Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese room temperature
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tsps vanilla extract
  • 3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 2-3 cups White candy melts
  • Pretzels
  • 14 Mini Reese cups
  • 14 Oreo thins
  • Black round sprinkles
  • Orange gummies I used lifesaver gummies
  • Red Rope Candy I used Twizzler Twists
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in 3 cups powdered sugar until blended.
  • In a small saucepan over very low heat, cook and stir chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Pour melted chocolate into cream cheese mixture and beat until blended. Stir in vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    chocolate truffle filling
  • Roll chocolate into 42 balls, making 14 of them slightly bigger than the rest, these will be the base of the snowmen.
    truffles shaped in balls
  • Let the truffles dry completely, several hours so they aren’t sticky.
  • Melt white candy melts either over a double boiler or in the microwave (stirring frequently). If the candy melts are too thick add 1 tbs of refined coconut oil or shortening and stir completely. Adding a little more coconut oil, a little at a time until it is thin enough to use.
    melted white candy melts
  • Dip the truffles in the white candy melts setting them on a parchment lined baking sheet to dry.

  • As they are drying affix the nose, button mouth, and eyes.* If the white chocolate has dried too fast simply use a little more melted white candy melt as glue. For the nose I sliced an orange lifesaver into the shape of a wedge and then stuck it to the face.
    hats made and heads decorated
  • Using more melted candy melts glue the mini Reeses and Oreo thins together to make the hat.
  • To assemble stick a toothpick into the center of the base of the snowman. Then push the middle of the snowman over that followed by the head making sure to be careful of the facial features.
    building the snowmen process
  • Carefully press in the pretzel pieces as arms and lastly wrap a string of rope candy around the neck. I peeled the Twizzler twists apart to get a thin enough scarf.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Tips and Tricks
  • *The order in which you decorate the face of the snowman doesn’t really matter. Either before or after assembling the snowman is just fine.
  • If you don't want to make snowmen out of all the balls you can roll the truffles in powdered sugar and eat them that way.
